What are stakeholders?
Stakeholders are the people whose priorities you are balancing in your decision. In Weivo, they can be team members, customers, executives, or any group with a stake in the outcome. Stakeholders are relevant in weighted mode and allocation mode. In direct mode, there is no stakeholder weighting — you are the decision-maker.Adding a stakeholder
- Go to the Stakeholders tab in your project
- Click Add stakeholder
- Enter their name and, optionally, their email address
- Set their weight (0 to 100) — this reflects how much influence their priorities should have on the final ranking
Setting stakeholder weights
Weights express relative influence, not absolute importance. A stakeholder with a weight of 40 has twice the influence of a stakeholder with a weight of 20. Some approaches for setting weights:- Role-based: executive sponsors carry more weight than individual contributors
- Volume-based: a customer segment with 60% of revenue gets 60% of the weight
- Equal-weighted: everyone at 100 / N for a purely democratic decision
Inviting stakeholders to vote
If you want stakeholders to rate needs directly rather than you entering their scores yourself, you can invite them to the stakeholder voting portal.- Open the stakeholder’s detail view
- Click Send invite
- They receive an email with a private link to their voting session
Editing and removing stakeholders
Click on any stakeholder to edit their name, weight, or email. To remove a stakeholder, open their detail view and use the delete option. Removing a stakeholder removes their influence from the analysis.Tips
- You do not need to invite stakeholders to use the voting portal. You can enter their ratings yourself based on conversations or surveys.
- Stakeholders never need a Weivo account. The voting portal is fully accessible via their private link.
