Overview
Weivo offers three planning modes. Each is suited to a different type of prioritization decision. You choose the mode when you create a project, and it shapes how needs, stakeholders, and features work together.Weighted mode
Use weighted mode when stakeholder influence matters and you want the final ranking to reflect who has the most say. In weighted mode, each stakeholder gets a weight (0 to 100) that represents how much their priorities should influence the outcome. Features are then scored against each stakeholder’s needs, and the final ranking is the weighted sum across all stakeholders. Best for: Product roadmap decisions where multiple teams or customers each have different influence levels.Direct mode
Use direct mode when you want a straightforward priority stack based on impact and effort — without stakeholder weighting. You add features, set an effort level for each, and mark must-haves. The analysis sorts features by impact relative to effort. Must-haves always float to the top regardless of score. Best for: Sprint planning, bug backlogs, or any situation where you are the primary decision-maker and do not need stakeholder input.Allocation mode
Use allocation mode when you need to split a fixed resource (budget, headcount, time) across competing programs or initiatives. Needs in allocation mode represent strategic goals or themes. Stakeholders weight those goals. Features represent programs or budget buckets. The analysis recommends a weighted allocation split across those programs. Best for: Annual planning, portfolio budgeting, or any resource allocation decision with multiple competing priorities.Choosing a mode
